Northwest Coalition for Healthy Intimacy

Live healthy, together.

We empowered and supported adults, teens, children, families and communities in building healthy relationships. We provided resources to promote healing for those who have been impacted by pornography, unhealthy sexualization or addiction. Our emphasis was on promoting healthy relationships, healing relationships that have been damaged, and providing resources for parents to help protect and teach their children skills for healthy intimate relationships.

NWCHI is no longer in business, but we are still making our archive website, Youtube videos and podcasts available as resources.

What We Did

Protecting Families

Healing relationships damaged by media that objectifies and degrades human intimacy is possible. True intimacy and connection is built on honesty, empathy, and connection.

Understanding Addiction

Our over-sexualized media and culture sends confusing messages about what healthy sexuality is. Degrading, objectifying, and demeaning sexual content is more acceptable and accessible than ever before.

Healthy Living

We also provide resources for individuals who are seeking healing from sex and pornography addiction. Our organization is passionate about prevention and offers educational resources to help parents raise healthy children.

Protecting Families

Healing relationships damaged by media that objectifies and degrades human intimacy is possible. True intimacy and connection is built on honesty, empathy, and connection.

Acknowledging imperfections and mistakes fosters intimacy and growth. Supporting and comforting individuals who have been victimized by unhealthy sexualization is vital in creating healthy communities.

For the family, healthy intimacy is an important ingredient in a successful marriage. Trust, respect, connection, emotional closeness, clear communication, and vulnerability are some of the building blocks of healthy intimacy. Healthy intimacy is not mere physical closeness, it is also a conscious effort to love and be loved.

It is important for parents to understand the potential dangers of unhealthy sexualization. Parents play an important role in shaping what choices their children will make concerning their sexuality. Parents can help their children be aware of the hazards of pornography, and also help them understand what characteristics are needed for healthy intimacy in relationships.

Understanding Addiction

& Recovery

Our over-sexualized media and culture sends confusing messages about what healthy sexuality is. Degrading, objectifying, and demeaning sexual content is more acceptable and accessible than ever before.

For some persons viewing and acting on sexual content and pornography becomes compulsive or addicting. They cannot stop doing unhealthy and unacceptable behaviors on their own. Sex and porn addiction are becoming all too common. Individuals impacted by these addictions can find themselves alone and confused in a painful world. There is a deep need for resources that provide hope and healing for those suffering from these addictions.

NWCHI provides information about healthy living in many ways. First, we educate individuals on how to achieve healthy intimacy. We also provide resources for individuals who are seeking healing from sex and pornography addiction.
